Arnold Bishop and his team paved our driveway. Arnold is pleasant, knowledgeable, and very competent. His team is highly skilled in the many tasks that are needed to complete the job. We had a fun learning experience.

When Steve and I went shopping for appliances, we found the LG French door refrigerator with the freezer on the bottom. We decided to have the freezer on the bottom because we access the freezer less than the refrigerator. The double doors look stylish and provide great access. The fruit and vegetable bins have separate heat and humidity controls. The first delivery date they gave us was June 26, 2008. There were several subsequent dates in between. We finally had the refrigerator delivered on August 19, 2008. We are agreed that the wait was worth the prize.

Yesterday Steve and I went shopping at IKEA - we took advantage of the tax free weekend. Steve and Thom moved the boxes into the house while Tracey, Cindy and I looked on. Tracey suggested that we put some of the items together. She is a real whiz at putting the piece parts together.
After lunching on pizza, Cindy wanted to play hide and seek with Steve. Today Cindy realized that Poppy is another name. Tracey was quick to point out that Cindy should call her grandfather Poppy. Cindy had a quick comeback “Gramma calls him Steve.” Tracey patiently explained that Poppy is an honorary title for grandfather. Not to be deterred, Cindy said, “You want to play hide and seek, Steve?” It was a fun day.

Today we took our neighbors, Eddie and Camille Pothier, and their niece June Muollo to see our house for the first time. We had the added pleasure of meeting our son Thom and his family at the house at the same time. That all happened just before the rains came down and down and down - very heavily. They all like the house and want to party.
Our grandaughter, Cindy, was happy to finally have the run of the house. On prior visits we had to stay out of the way of the trades who were working on the house. Click on the photo below to see more pictures.

Today the building inspector, Thom Roy, came to inspect the whole house. At the end of the inspection, we got our occupancy permit. This is a big day at Brogan house. It was a tense time. I forgot to take pictures, except for the few below.

Below is the completed electrical panels. We now have electricity everywhere it should be.
You may not recognize the site below. You have seen this spot many times in Brogan House pictures, but this time it is different. There is no blue porta potty. We now have inside plumbing and that’s a good thing.
Today was a very busy day with many things happening. I have broken them down by trade so everyone gets credit for the work they did on this very busy day.

Once upon a time, a man could build a house using his own ideas and his own labor. Now in the age of specialization, many different trades are needed to play their part in the completion of a house. We are blessed that all of the trades worked together so well. Do you know that I take a picture of the electrical box every time I go to the house, even though I may not display the picture?
