Meet Richard Stevens from Kearsarge Quality Builders. He, along with Chris Haithwaite and Dan Nadeau have been very busy installing the sheet rock in our home. Their card says “We take pride in the quality of our work.” That is a true statement. They do framing, windows, siding, decks, metal and shingle roofing. They also have a “complete drywall division.” They are fully insured and give free estimates. Their office number is 603-287-1412 - OR - you can reach them on their cell: 603-477-6233. Steve and I are so impressed with their speed and quality. Click on the picture below to see more photos.

Today was exciting for Steve and I. The septic system has been accepted by the state inspector. Adam and Dick Mazur have covered the pipes and the “two” septic tanks. They are shaping the landscape of our yard. The Mazur brothers are exceptional people. They are knowledgeable, helpful, kind and they both have a sense of humor. Pictures of what happened today

We didn’t check out the house until after the men had finished for the day. They were so busy yesterday, we didn’t want to interrupt them today. As you can see by the pictures, they did not waste any time today. Click on the picture below to see more photos.

Spring always comes with lots of hope that things will turn out well. We got to see the spot where the air conditioners will sit.

Today we got to met the men who are placing the drywall in our house. They move amazingly fast and they are doing a great job. Music is a wonderful way to keep the action moving. Click on the picture below to see more pictures.

In the afternoon, we went to Carpet World in Manchester, NH. Byron Day is the man with the knowledge. He has been doing floors for over 30 years. No wonder he is so knowledgeable.

Good bye Dave

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 9:34 am

We hadn’t been to the house for a few days and we realized we missed the people who are building our house. We were anxious to see everyone again. Maybe that excitement made the view of the new door exciting. The excitement was short lived when we learned that today is Dave Soter’s last day. Dave will be taking a six month sabbatical to hike from Mexico to Canada. David is always smiling and always has a kind word. Good luck to you Dave and come see us when you get back.

Happenings

Filed under: Articles — admin @ 8:33 am

Many things are happening at our house. The new utility pole was installed. We met Steve Lawrence from PRO-TECHNOLOGIES - they will be installing and monitoring our security system. Hallee electric is installing our electrical system.

We have owned several homes during our marriage, but this is first one we ever had built. The whole process is interesting. I never thought much about electricity, other than the placement of the outlet. We filled out a work sheet of our electrical needs, but there is ever so much more involved. The electrical panel is in the basement. The wire starts there and goes though walls and floors to get to the termination. A biggy is the correct amperage that is needed. The different colored electrical wires have different amperage: Orange is 30 amps; Yellow is 20 amps; White is 15 amps. We are confident that everything will turn out as planned.
